Theatre workshop of Sergey Golomazov
This drama study after Maxim Gorky’s play is about a complex relationship between parents, children, relatives, lodgers, dependents and parasites all living in the Russian bourgeois Bessemyonov’s house. As a director, Sergey Golomazov wants to emphasize not as much the conflict between the bourgeois and the revolutionary minds, but the tragedy of the father who cannot find a proper language to speak to his children.
The atmosphere of instability is accentuated by the actual staging, where the characters are incarnated by two casts of actors in consequence of the interchange of the roles, as the judges turn into the accused.
